If any picture truly captures NorthWest Branch Pool, it may be the snapshot above from the mid 1990s. No, it does not show our wonderful hill, the charming Gazebo or the crystal water of our pool. But it is a window into the heart and soul of what NWB is -- and should always be. Here we see the next generation of our world, marching onto the tree-lined grounds for a Saturday morning meet. Their coach is smiling proudly in the dappled sunlight, as well he should. Judging by the flags, it’s probably the meet held closest to the Fourth of July -- always a terrific event. This photo tells a compelling story of the importance of family, friends and patriotism, the hard work of athletic practice and the rewards that come with all that effort, as well as the joy of being part of a team. When the going gets tough, remember this photo and what it promises.
