Take a moment here and ponder this magnificent photo. Look carefully all the happy faces. They are, of course, NWB Dolphins of a bygone era, sitting on the steps by the clubhouse. The year was 1972. The top hit song was “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Roberta Flack. The hit movie was “The Godfather.” Richard Nixon was President. The Baseball Season was delayed due to a strike.
Now look a little more closely at the folks in the top left of the photo. Ponder the young lady in the dark t-shirt with the whistle around her neck. Recognize her from 34 years ago? You should. She coached the Dolphins that year. But you know her just as well today. OK, it’s Sheila Wooters, as vivacious then as ever.
Sheila dug out the photo for us and we’re adding it to our Photo Library where it joins a treasure trove of other team photos spanning the decades of NWB history.
Thanks a zillion, Sheila.
